Dave Mercer, otherwise known as Canada's Fishing Funny Man and host of TV's Facts of Fishing, spends  over 225 days a year fishing for just about anything that swims. Dave Johnson has been fishing competitively in tournaments now for 21 years.  He has done tournaments both in  Canada and the U.S. fishing both the FLW and Bassmasters for 3 years.  In that time he has 2 classic  wins, 3 individual angler of the year and 4 team of the year awards, over 30 bass tournament wins, 4 pike  tournament wins and a Canada US Walleye win. He is currently a member of the York Bassmasters and on  the 2009 Team Ontario as a boater. Mr. Johnson has also invented his own worm weight which is called the  clipper worm weight and is currently being sold through the Mizmo bait company.
Dave Rochette has been competing in fishing tournaments for close to 20 years. He has numerous wins  and prides himself on being able to compete on any body of water at any time of year. Dave is a four time  member of team Ontario with the OBF and his personal challenge is to one day compete at the Federation  Nationals and then the BASS Classic. In 2009 Dave added a 7th place finish in the BASS Northerns Lake  Erie event!
Jeff Toppings, a native of Picton, Ontario has 16 tournament victories and 45 top ten finishes so far in his 17  year tournament fishing career! Jeff feels his success fishing comes from his versatility and putting  together solid patterns to deliver results. Rob Hyatt of Rob's Fishing Charters & Ice Bungalows fishing success in the Near North is legendary! His  tournament record rates with the best! He has numerous accomplishments in his tournament career  including being a former OBF Divisional Representative, the inaugural Nipissing Open Champion and a  NEOBS Classic Champion!
A former Renegade Bass Classic Champion, Paul attributes his success to a passion for the sport, the common thread uniting all anglers. Paul's passion is apparent in all aspects of his competitive game and is  best demonstrated in his unrelenting tournament preparation. Paul believes extra effort, perseverance and  his obsession to control all possible variables are critical to one's success. Paul's tournament mantra is  "Chance favours the prepared mind". His mix of humour, vast experience, anecdotes and straight talk,  always leaves audiences entertained and informed.
Jack Lavert was raised off the shores of the St. Lawrence River in Summerstown, Ontario and has been fishing  since he was 4 years of age.  Jack is a multi species fisherman, but his favorite species would be Largemouth  bass.  He has been fishing derbies/tournaments for 25 years and more seriously for the last 6 years. Jack has several tourney wins, a 2004 Renegade Bass Team of the Year and most notably a 2008 Renegade  Bass Classic Championship win together with his partner, Steve Barnett."
Lenny Devos was born & raised in Kingston and learned how to ply his trade on the fish rich waters  surrounding  the area. Although he fishes for all species of fish, Lenny's first love is angling for bass. His  favourite  presentations are flipping a jig and pig or hurling a topwater frog around. Sponsored by Triton  Boats, Hunters Bay Marine & Quantum, Lenny has been tournament fishing for over 20 years! He has  focused on the Renegade Bass Tour since 2003 winning the 2007 Classic and the 2008 "Team of the  Year!" honours with his tournament partner, Jeff Desloges! "A day on the lake with nothing learned is a  wasted  day!" is a saying that Lenny lives by.
Rocky Crawford is a full-time professional angler / guide, outdoor writer and seminar speaker currently  residing in Whitby. His 4 National Classic victories put him into a league of his own! A Bass'n'tario Classic  victory, 3 "Angler of the Year!" honours, his list of accomplishments seem endless!
Curtis Richardson is one of Canada's top tournament pro's. He has also had success south of the  border,  finishing 2nd at the 2009 Bassmaster Open on Chesapeake Bay.
Hailing out of Chatham, Ontario Josh Myers has fished competitively for 8 years. Over that short period  Josh has had a tremendous amount of success, amassing over $130,000 in winnings. When Josh is not  fishing in tournaments he is available as a guide on Lake St. Clair. Having won several tournaments and  "Big Fish" awards, hi-lights of Josh's include the 2008 Canadian Open Championship, a runner-up finish in  the 2006 Canadian Open and a 7th place finish in a FLW Tour event on the Detroit River. His ability to learn  and adapt by fine tuning the little things but not over looking the big things are essential keys to his fishing  success!
The 2004 Emerald Isle champ Rob Webster is definitely one of the top anglers in Canada. He has  numerous wins in pretty well all of the Ontario circuits and has made over 100 thousand dollars fishing  team tournaments. Rob has now taken the next step in his career by fishing FLW and BASS circuits in the  US. He is making a name for himself south of the border with several cheques cashed and looks forward to  a lucrative career in the Bass fishing industry.
In 2009, Jay Martin cultured two wins in the Bay of Quinte Series including the opener with largemouth and  the final event of the Classic Title with smallmouth. He also backed up another Classic title the year before  in the 2008 Top Bass Series. In the past two years 2009 & 2008 he competed in 6 Classics Championships  and finished 5 of 6 of them in the top ten. Known as a humble angler,  Jay is a mentor to many young angler's and is always  willing to share his passion and fishing experiences with anyone that wants to learn.

Steve Chiasson is a veteran tournament angler with multiple tournament wins, two angler of the year titles, and a GM Pro Bass Classic victory.  Victories on Lake Simcoe, Lake St. Clair, Rice Lake, Sturgeon Lake, Lake Scugog, Stoney Lake, Georgian Bay, and Trilakes attest to Steve's versatility in being able to win catching smallmouth or largemouth on a variety of lakes.  Steve is an accomplished seminar speaker and outdoor writer who is proud to be joining the BassTalk team.  He is looking forward to sharing his knowledge with aspiring anglers.
